Our client was a software development company with software solutions and proprietary hardware for the global smart card market. The client wished to enter the China market and the broader Asia-Pacific market to access numerous government-sponsored and private sector smart card projects. We helped to create a joint venture in China for OEM production of the hardware device which integrates smart card technology and biometric identification. Simultaneously we created separate joint venture and subsidiary operations in Mainland China and in Singapore for the co-development of software and to market and distribute those software and hardware products in China and throughout Asia-Pacific. We also arranged private financing for the projects in China and Singapore with local investment partners.
